Volunteering

Recruiting locally

There are many business and community benefits from recruiting local people.

Employers find that recruitment from local people results in benefits such as

  • lower staff turnover
  • increased staff loyalty and productivity
  • stronger community relations
  • insights into local communities and local customers
  • increased potential for sourcing other new recruits due to local contacts
  • reduced absenteeism and lost work time due to reduced travel to work time
  • environmental benefits from reduced travel time

With the vital role that London is playing in globalisation, languages are becoming increasingly important. There are over 300 languages spoken in London and 120 in Camden schools.

Whilst many companies in Camden may be able to recruit the best from all over the world, there is clear potential to develop new markets and customers from utilising talent right on our doorstep

Recruiting locally also supports your corporate social responsibility (link) aims leading to good reputational benefits, publicity and helping to portray a positive company brand.
