Motorcycles in bus lanes
We have two types of bus lanes in the borough - those controlled by Camden and those controlled by TfL.
Transport for London red route bus lanes are easily distinguishable as they are marked with red lines rather than the normal yellow lines of Camden's bus lanes.
TfL trial
TfL are currently conducting a trial which allows motorcyclists to travel in their red route bus lanes.
The trial does not include those bus lanes controlled by Camden.
Motorcyclists in bus lanes will receive Penalty Charge Notices on their first and subsequent contraventions.
There are clear signs on all bus routes - both on TfL red route bus lanes and on those controlled by Camden - which show road users what time the bus lane operates and which vehicles are allowed in them.
