Older Person's Freedom Pass (OPFP)
What is the Older Person's Freedom Pass (OPFP)?
The OPFP is a travel pass that allows Camden residents 60 years or over free travel within the greater London area. The pass is valid on London Transport buses including low floor mobility buses and Stationlink, London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, national railway services and the Croydon Tramlink.
How can I join the scheme?
You can get an application from the passenger and accessible transport team
You will need to provide proof of your sole or principal residence in Camden, proof of age and a passport-style photograph and return the form to the passenger and accessible transport team in the envelope provided.
Am I eligible?
The OPFP is available for people aged 60 years and over, who reside in London.
You cannot make an application for an OPFP until you actually become 60 years of age.
If you live in Camden, you can make an application for an OPFP up to six weeks before you become 60 years of age.
How much does it cost?
The pass is free, but the you will have to provide one passport-style photograph with your application. You will also have to supply proof of age residence in Camden.
If the pass is used on national railways to travel beyond the greater London area, the extra onward cost of the journey must be paid before boarding the train.
When is the pass valid?
Freedom Pass for elderly people is valid 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the bus, Tube, Docklands Light Railway, Tram and London Overground networks.
However, for National Rail services the pass is valid only after 9.30am on all weekdays and all day weekends and public holidays.
The remaining overland networks in London continue to accept the Freedom Pass for travel during off peak hours.
