Camden Shopmobility
The Camden Shopmobility scheme loans Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMV) and manual wheelchairs to local residents and visitors with mobility impairments.
The aim of the scheme is to improve the quality of life of disabled people by making it easier for them to visit their local shops, facilities and open spaces.
What can I borrow?
There are a variety of PMV and manual wheelchairs available for loan on a daily basis. The vehicles can be collected from Camden Shopmobility
This is a membership based scheme.

Please note that all applicants need to provide proof of permanent residence in residence in United Kingdom.
Eligibility
Membership is open to anyone permanently resident in the United Kingdom; you do not have to be a Camden resident to join the scheme. However, you will need to provide proof of address.
Once training has been successfully completed, you will be able to start using the Shopmobility vehicles. Members must read and agree to the terms and conditions of the service before they are allowed to borrow a PMV or manual wheelchair.

Cost to user
The annual membership fee is £10. However there is no charge for the loan of PMV. Please note that PMV's have to be returned each day. Camden and Islington residents who require loans for longer periods of time should consider joining the ScootAbility scheme
Manual wheelchairs are also available for hire and cost £25 per week.
There is also a deposit of £50 payable that is refundable on the return of the chair in good condition. The fee and deposit are payable by cash only.
Visitors
Visitors to the borough can use the service. You may visit the shop on the day in question and complete an application form and the necessary training will be provided.
Training
To ensure that you feel confident and safe using a vehicle, we will provide a one-to-one training session. The training will allow you to use a vehicle and enable us to deal with any issues or concerns you may have.
How to use the service
The Camden Shopmobility is open Monday to Saturday 9.15am – 4.30pm. It is advisable to book a vehicle in advance to ensure that it is available when required.
