Safeguarding children - information for parents
Bringing up children can be tough. Although the rewards are great there are times when you may feel you need help and advice about a problem you, or your child, may be facing. You can get support from the various community support organisations for parents in Camden, such as Sure Start
All parents have difficult times, and it’s best to talk about problems and get help before things gets worse. If you are really struggling to cope you can talk to a social worker contact safeguarding and social care who can discuss your problem and offer the support that can make your situation better.
Parenting handbook
Our new parenting handbook is available online as well as from libraries and other public places It gives parents useful ideas, information about services and contact numbers for help and advice. It is available in English, French, Somali, Arabic and Bengali.
Joint mental health and child care protocol
Camden's mental health services and Children, Schools and Families have agreed a protocol which details how the two services will work together to provide better support for families where parents have mental health difficulties.
The protocol is part of our work towards the main focus of 'Every Child Matters' to make sure that all services work closely together to protect children and keep them safe.
