Safer travel at night
How are you getting home tonight?
Don't put yourself at risk, always use a licensed minicab, taxi or night bus.
Unlicensed minicab drivers commit 11 sexual assaults in London a month. If you get into an unlicensed minicab, you are trusting your safety to a driver who may be a criminal or a sex attacker, driving an uninsured or unsafe car. Drivers who offer you a ride on the street are acting illegally.
Cabwise
Use Transport for London's Cabwise service to get the numbers of one taxi and two licensed minicabs, in your area, sent directly to your phone.
- Don’t accept a ride from a minicab driver on the street
- Do book a cab through a licensed minicab firm or use a licensed black cab
- Check that the minicab driver knows your name and destination. Always sit in the back and carry a mobile phone.
