Who exactly is King’s Cross Working?
We are a partnership of best practice practitioners in every step of the recruitment and training process.
Working together as one unit, under one roof you can find just about everybody you need for a smooth and effective move into employment.
Our information, advice and guidance team are Jobcentreplus specialists and have direct access to all construction related jobs locally and in the surrounding areas.
Our resident training providers, Carillion Construction training and Camden Jobtrain, offer a wide variety of pre-vocational and vocational courses on and off site.
Our workplace co-ordinator is part of the Building London Creating Futures initiative, and specialises in finding you and supporting you once you are in a job. All our teams are ready and waiting for you.
King’s Cross Working is currently a CSCS related national health and safety test centre
Training
There is a two week training course taster - Get into construction - an initiative to promote career opportunities for young people in the construction industry. The training offers:
- tickets in abraisive wheels, manual handling, fire marshalling etc.
King's Cross Working training offers:
- Entry to Employment (E2E) in multi skills
- various construction NVQ provision including dry lining.
How to find us
We are only a couple of hundred meters from King's Cross Station.
The Construction Training Centre is on CTRL 103 land on the corner of Wharf Road (not signposted) and York Way which runs along King's Cross station, south to north.
Moving along York Way and with the station on your left you will pass Wharfdale Road on your right and a set of pedestrian lights. Then you will pass through a set of traffic lights, with Goods Way and the BP petrol station on your left.
At the next set of traffic lights after going over Regent's Canal you will see the two tone blue Building in front of you, behind the CTRL 103 green hoardings. Our front gate is on Wharf Road. For deliveries and emergency parking go to the back gate round the building.
How do I get to you?
There is only emergency parking available on site. However public transport is excellent and the 390 Bus stops right outside.
