How can we Help You

Learn about recycling

Recycling at school

We have a dedicated schools co-ordinator who can visit your school and provide fun, curriculum-linked class activities, as well as practical advice and support to set-up recycling initiatives to help reduce the amount of rubbish schools produce.

Assemblies and individual class visits

A member of our recycling team can address a school assembly, or individual class sessions to explain more about recycling, why it is important to recycle and how you can take part in recycling at school and at home.

Free recycling collections for your school

Camden also offers a free weekly collection of paper, card, cans and plastics from your school.  We will provide the required number of wheelie bins for each of the materials to be collected and will collect free of charge to all schools in Camden. We can also offer free green boxes for classrooms to make it easier to collect your paper and card before taking it to the recycling bins. Visit our schools recycling centres page for more information.

Visit Regis Road Recycling Education Centre

The education centre is open to all schools, community groups, local residents and youth groups.  A typical visit to the centre would involve a short presentation and film about recycling in Camden with a tour around the site, depending on the age of the visitors. Visitors can also take part in out interactive games and activities. The main aim of the centre is to:

  • promote the three 'R's' - Reduce, Re-use and Recycle
  • demonstrate recycling possibilities. Much of the centres furniture is made from recycled materials and the building has many sustainable features
  • show visitors a working recycling site

The centre is fully interactive. We use an interactive whiteboard and sorting games for younger visitors, including a recycling quiz.

Visiting hours are between 8am and 2pm.  They last an hour to an hour and a half. The maximum group size is 30 school children (including adults) or 20 adults.

This is a public access site and fully accessible to wheelchair users. We will try to meet any special requirements on request. Please visit Regis Road Recycling Education Centre for more information.
