About the zones
Do you have a great idea about how to make Camden greener?
The Green Camden zones programme is here to help you take action in your community. It’s tailored to your needs giving you the support, resources and materials to green your local area.
Unsure where to start or need support to move things forward?
Not to worry. However small, unusual or absurd your idea, we want to hear from you.
- email Green Camden, and we can help make your idea a reality.
Green Camden zones forum
The first Green Camden zones forum, held in December 2011, was a great success. By the New Year we had more than 27 residents working with us to start their new zones, and that number is continually growing.
What is all this excitement about the zones?
We’ve had a fantastic response from residents who have used our menu of activities and free materials to improve their local area.
It hasn’t stopped there either, as many residents and organisations have brought their own ideas to the table and we are working with them to make these ideas happen.
All activities are chosen and
lead by passionate residents in the community who are keen on helping
their neighbours and local area be greener.
Take a look at what’s happening at the moment:
- in Regent's Park, some residents have started engaging their neighbours by dropping off water saving and 'no junk mail' packs.
- in West Hampstead, some residents are starting a food growing site on unused land.
- in Bloomsbury, some residents are getting a community compost going on their block of flats.
- in Somers Town, some residents are looking to install more cycle parking.
- and throughout the borough, we are supporting one individual to start a social enterprise that will reduce carbon emissions from cars.
