Youth Connexions
Connexions is the government strategy for all 13-19 year olds as a strategy to raise educational achievement and address young people in danger of "disappearing" at sixteen.
While the service normally stops at 19, there is room for extension in the case of special needs. Connexions is organised regionally and Camden is one of seven boroughs in the Central London Region.
The main strands are:
- Education Maintenance Allowances - to encourage those on low income to stay on in education
- The Connexions Card - to give young people access to discounted facilities, including some travel.
- Youth Support Service - to provide advice and guidance
