Ethnic Minority Achievement Service (EMAS)
Core services
Supporting schools in raising the attainment of pupils from underachieving minority ethnic groups:
- Provide advice, support and guidance for teachers and school managers on effective provision for pupils learning English as an additional language (EAL), Refugees and Travellers
- Provide school-based, community-based and central training to promote educational attainment of pupils from the above groups
- Work with pupils, parents, community members and professionals from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds
