Details
Health trainers provide free NHS health checks for Camden residents to find out their risks of developing heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and type 2 diabetes. Once the Health Check is completed they will work with you offering advice and support in managing and lowering those risks. They are based at the Healthy Heart Centre in Kentish Town and Kilburn but also run Health Check sessions throughout the borough at community venues, and can be arranged on request for groups of the eligible population. Please call the Health Check Hotline to arrange a session near you. NHS Health Check comprises height, weight, BMI, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol and Glucose measurements, alongside a lifestyle and family history assessment.

The daily drop-in crisis intervention service provides immediate support to women with problems concerning domestic violence, advice on healthy living, claiming benefits, reducing debt, fuel poverty, homelessness and housing issues. Also provide culturally specific Somali, Irish and Asian women?s groups. Weekly services include pilates, aromatherapy massage, nurse, sewing and crafts classes, educational gardening sessions, ESOL classes. The centre holds a monthly women's cancer support group and runs a volunteer development programme. The Centre provides support for women in a caring and supportive environment.
