CBMEA is a membership based, strategic umbrella organisation for Camden's Black and Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BMER) voluntary and community organisations. CBMEA work in partnership across the sectors to ensure that the needs of local BMER communites are heard and taken into account at decision-making levels. Support BMER groups through providing organisational developmental services and support, e.g. with fund raising, developing quality assurance systems and consortiums; information through regular newsletters (The Alliance), and email shots. CBMEA also offers hot desking facilities for office work at a low cost to BMER voluntary and community organisations in Camden.

Leads on the community cohesion agenda for the council, and coordinates activity to promote cohesion by working closely with statutory and non-statutory partners, the voluntary and community sector and within communities. The team also leads for the council on the preventing extremism agenda.
