This is one of three service directorates in Camden Council. It comprises all of the services that were in the Education Department, the services for children and families that were in Social Services and the Play Service (now Extended Community Services for Children and Young People) which was in Leisure and Community Services. They were brought together in October 2005 as a requirement of the Children Act 2004. There are five divisions: Learning and School Effectiveness; Access and Inclusion; Finance and Schools Support; Partnerships, Strategy and Commissioning; Safeguarding and Social Care.
