Sensory Needs Service (camden Council)

Provides assessments and a range of services for people who are blind or partially sighted, deaf, deafened or hard of hearing, including deaf sign language users or have both a significant hearing and sight loss. Specialist workers aim to help people to live as independently as possible. Offers advice and training, provision and installation of special equipment, adaptations to the home and rehabilitation training, plus care management to Deaf Sign Language Users who have additional complex needs. They work jointly with the Low Vision Clinic providing low vision aids to people with a sight loss. Close links with deaf advice (RAD) and information service at DISC, offering benefits and other help to deaf people in Camden. Do not provide hearing aids; if you need hearing aids please contact your GP who will refer you to hospital hearing aid services.
