How can we Help You

Get a copy of a birth, marriage, civil partnership and death certificate

You can get copies of certificates dating back to 1837 and up to the present.

We need to know the following information about the person you are applying for:

  • birth certificate - full name, date and place of birth
  • marriage certificate - full name of couple, date and place of marriage (register office or name of church)
  • civil partnership certificate - full name of couple, date and place of partnership and address of couple at the time of the partnership (if address is unknown you will receive an extract of the entry)
  • death certificate - full name, date and place of death

Copies of birth, marriage, civil partnership and death certificates are available from Camden Register Office - if the event took place in the present London Borough of Camden - or in the former St Pancras or Hampstead Registration Districts or some parts of Holborn.

If customers wish to obtain a wedding certificate, please note that the Camden register office may not have some Church registers as it is only provided with them by the Church when they have been completed.

How do I apply?

Applications can be made in person or by post. Please make cheques or postal orders payable to London Borough of Camden:
