  • Information, advice and guidance to find out your interests and help you choose the right job
  • Pre and post employment support, offering recruitment advice which effectively matches your skills to the job.

  • For those aged 16 to 19 please contact Connexions on 02079747252. You can access careers guidance, application form and interview support.
  • For those aged between 20 and 24, general employment advice and resources are available at the Peabody Bruce House Centre which is located near Holborn on 0207 021 4160 or the Peabody Hugh Cubitt Centre which is located near King’s Cross St Pancras on 020 7021 4127.

Camden Council is recruiting a Registration Service Apprentice

The apprenticeship will provide project administrative and customer service support to the Registrars team. The apprenticeship will be for a fixed term period of 12 months. During this time you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience working for Camden Council whilst pursuing a Business Administration Apprenticeship qualification at Level 2.

Details:

  • Contract length: 12 month contract with Camden Council
  • Hours: 36 per week
  • Salary: £176 per week and increasing to £193 per week after 6 months (paid monthly)
  • Based in: Camden Town Hall, Judd Street
  • You will study towards achieving: a Level 2 NVQ in Business Administration
  • Application deadline: Midnight Sunday 7th September 2014
  • Selection day will be held on: Thursday 2pm 11th September 2014
  • Employer interview will be held: W/C 15 September 2014
  • Start date: End September 2014 (subject to satisfactory references)

Criteria:

Sylvia Unisex Hair Salon is recruiting for an Apprentice Stylist

Sylvia Unisex Hair Salon is a small family run salon in Swiss Cottage. They pride themselves on excellent customer service and high quality hair styling which has allowed them to build a loyal group of repeat customers. Sylvia the owner has 35 years experience of styling hair and is looking to pass on her expertise to an apprentice.  Sylvia is looking to develop someone who will help the salon to grow and build their career there. The successful apprentice will be given a fantastic opportunity not just to learn how to style hair but also to build their own group of loyal customers by promoting their services, building good relationships with customers, providing an excellent service as a stylist and ensuring the customers return to the salon.

Details:

  • Salary: £2.68 per hour (£107 for a 40 hour week) initially but will rise to £4 per hour (£160 for a 40 hour week) based on good performance.
  • Hours: Shifts vary, but the apprentice will complete 40 hours per week working 9:00 am to 6:00 pm over 5 days. Saturday working is required.
  • Contract: 12 months however the right apprentice will be asked to stay on
  • Location: Swiss Cottage
  • Closing date for CVs: Midnight on Tuesday 2nd September 2014
  • Selection Day: Thursday 4th September 2014
  • Employer Interviews: Week commencing 8th September 2014
  • Work trial: A short work trial will be conducted following the employer interviews

Camden Council is recruiting a Community Safety Apprentice

Camden Council is offering an opportunity to a 16 to 24 year old Camden resident, Camden care leaver or former Camden secondary school student to become a Community Safety Apprentice and study towards achieving a level 3 or qualification in Business Administration.

• Contract length: 18 months
• Weekly salary: £227 per week, rising to £252 per week after 6 months, and £277 per week after 12 month Qualification:
• You will work towards achieveing an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration
• Based: Kings Cross
• Application deadline: midnight on Wednesday 27th August 2014
• Selection day will be held at: 2pm on Tuesday 2nd September 2014
• Employer interview: 11 September 2014
• Start date: End of September 2014

The Community Safety Service works with a number of Council departments and the Community Safety Partnership (CPS) which brings together partners including Police, Fire Services, Social Services and Probation to address crime and community safety issues in Camden. The apprentice will work across the service and with partners to develop and deliver innovative, best practice community safety solutions.

The Hoxton Holborn hotel is recruiting an Apprentice Receptionist

The Hoxton Holborn hotel combines contemporary and stylish bedrooms, drinking and dining space as well as an apartment style events and meeting space. Working for The hotel, you will learn to provide a personal and professional reception service at their soon-to-open Holborn hotel. You will also work towards and complete a level 2 Customer Service apprenticeship.

Details:

  • Salary: £236 per week (working 37.5 hours per week)
  • Contract length: 24 months
  • Hours: You will work 5 days a week on a rota system working a variety of shifts. AM shift from 7am to 3pm, PM shift from 3pm to 11pm, MIDDLE shift from 12pm to 8pm. You will get a 30 minutes rest break each day.
  • Qualification you will study towards achieving: an NVQ in Customer Service. Within your working hours you will be given 2 paid hours each week to work on the qualification element of your apprenticeship.
  • Based: Holborn
  • Application deadline: midnight on Sunday 31st August 2014
  • Pre-screening selection day: Thursday 11th September 2014
  •  Employer interview: Either 15th, 16th or 17th September 2014  between 3pm and 6pm
  • Start date: Monday 20th October 2014

Criteria:

Hartwig Care is recruiting Apprentice Care Workers

Hartwig Care is a London-based Domiciliary Care agency looking to recruit APPRENTICE CARE WORKERS to support their Clients in every way YOU can; remembering not to take away a person’s physical or personal independence and choice, and at all times, preserve client dignity and confidentiality.

You could be working with the elderly, or people of all ages who are recovering from illnesses, or may have a disability or mental health problems. Your duties will involve personal care, household duties, meal preparation, companionship and personal assistance.

Criteria:

  • 18 – 24 years old
  • Resident in EU / UK for over 3 years
  • Do NOT hold a degree or Level 4 qualification
  • Willing to go through a Disclosure and Barring Service check

Working Week: 30 hours per week (a minimum of 5 shifts per week, each shift is 6 hours, which includes evening and weekend work).
There are 2 shifts:
Shift 1: 8.00am – 2.00pm
Shift 2: 4.00pm – 10.00pm

Weekly Wage:

  • Stage 1: Month 1-3 = £120per week
  • Stage 2: Month 4-6 = £135per week
  • Stage 3: Month 7-9 = £150per week
  • Stage 4: Month 10-12=£165per week

Location: Various homes in, and near, the Camden area

Duration of Apprenticeship: 12 months, with opportunities to become a permanent member of staff on successful completion.
