  • Information, advice and guidance to find out your interests and help you choose the right job
  • Pre and post employment support, offering recruitment advice which effectively matches your skills to the job.

  • For those aged between 20 and 24, general employment advice and resources are available at the Peabody Bruce House Centre which is located near Holborn on 0207 021 4160 or the Peabody Hugh Cubitt Centre which is located near King’s Cross St Pancras on 020 7021 4127.

Want some extra help to get through the recruitment process?

If you are 18 to 24 years old, you can be put in touch with a mentor who can help with application forms, interview preparation, help in improving your literacy and numeracy skills or any other support you might need in accessing an apprenticeship. Camden Council is recruiting an Advanced Apprentice Environment Support Officer

Camden Council’s Environment Services team is offering an exciting opportunity to a 16 to 24 year old Camden resident, Camden care Leaver or former Camden Secondary School student  to become an Apprentice Environmental Support Officer. (You must be eligible to work in the UK and not have a level 4 qualification or equivalent)

• Duration:18 month contract with Camden Council
• Hours: 36 hours per week Monday to Friday
• Salary: £227 per week, rising to £252 after 6 months, and £277 after 12 months
• Location: Arlington Road (Camden town)
• You will work towards achieving an NVQ 3 in Business Administration

• Closing date for applications:  Midnight – Wednesday 15th October
• Pre-screening selection day: Thursday 23rd October
• Direct interviews will take place during the week commencing 27th October
• Start date: End of November/beginning of December 2014

Environment Services is responsible for managing and delivering a range of work for the borough including: residential waste collection, commercial waste, recycling, public toilets and markets. You will learn to provide technical support across all environmental management teams, including data inputting, dealing with enquiries, complaints and service requests and carrying out reception duties.

Kentish Town City Farm is recruiting an Animal Care Apprentice (16-18 year olds only)

Kentish Town City Farm is offering an exciting opportunity to a 16-18 year old Camden resident, Camden Secondary School leaver or Camden care leaver to become an Animal Care Apprentice.

  • Contract length: 18 months
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm five days per week including some weekends
  • Salary: £120 per week
  • Location: Gospel Oak
  • You will study towards achieving: NVQ 2 in Animal Care at Capel Manor College

Kentish Town City farm is located in the heart of Gospel Oak and is home to a range of livestock, poultry and horses. As an apprentice, your role will include handling a range of livestock (horses, pigs, cows, sheep and poultry) and maintaining their living environment, carrying out gardening duties, engaging with visitors to help them learn more about the farm, handling phone enquiries and some basic office duties.

La Petite Poissonnerie is recruiting an Apprentice Fishmonger

We have an exciting opportunity for you to train, earn and learn. La Petite Poissonnerie http://lapetite-poissonnerie.co.uk/ is offering a 12 month opportunity to a 16 to 24 year old Camden resident or former Camden Secondary School Student to become an Apprentice Fishmonger and learn all aspects of working in a fishmongers shop.

  • Salary: Increases every 3 months. Starts at £180 per week, after 3 months rises to £200 per week, after 6 months rises to £220 per week, after 9 months rises to £240 per week.
  • Based: Marble Arch
  • Contract length: 12 months
  • Qualification you will study towards achieving: Fish and Shellfish Industry Skills NVQ Level 2 with possibility of a permanent role after completing the apprenticeship.
  • Hours: 8 hours a day – early starts: 7.00am – 3.00pm or late starts: 12:00pm – 8.00pm. You’ll be paid during your lunch break and free lunches will be provided by La Petite Poissonnerie.

La Petite Poissonnerie is opening a new shop located in Marble Arch; the shop provides locally and sustainably sourced fresh fish, shellfish and smoked fish all year round. In addition to supplying fresh fish, they offer a selection of Japanese and French groceries and beverages such as Sakes, Shochus (Japanese Vodka), French White and Red Wines, seaweed, dressings, and sauces. They are looking for an apprentice to learn all aspects of working with fish and shellfish and learn the trade from experienced fishmongers and chefs.

Criteria

  • 16 - 24 years old, Camden resident, Camden care leaver or former Camden Secondary School student.

Camden Council is recruiting SIX Apprentice Business Support Officers

Camden Council’s Business Support service is offering an opportunity to SIX 16 to 24 year old Camden residents, Camden care leavers or former Camden secondary school students to become Business Support Officers whilst pursuing a Business Administration Apprenticeship qualification at Level 2.

  • Salary: £176 per week, rising to £193 per week after 6 months
  • Based at: 5 Pancras Square in Kings Cross
  • Hours: 9-5pm Monday-Friday
  • Contract length: 12 months
  • Apprenticeship: Business Administration Level 2

Business Support Officers provide a professional, proactive, customer focussed business administration service to the organisation, enabling services to meet their obligations and Council objectives. 

Two of the six Apprentice Business Support Officers will work closely with directorate teams that provide personal support to Council Chief Officers. Their role will involve assisting with diary and email management, supporting with events and responding to routine enquiries on behalf of Chief Officers.

Holborn Community Association seeks an Apprentice to support Millman Street Resource Centre’s Day Opportunities Service for older people. This service aims to improve the quality of life for its members by providing personal care, a wide range of activities, advice and support, and a lunch service

  • Contract length: 12 months
  • Apprenticeship: Intermediate Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care (Level 2
  • Salary: £150 per week for months 1 to 6. £166 per week for months 7 to 12.

Hartwig Care is a London-based Domiciliary Care agency looking to recruit APPRENTICE CARE WORKERS to support their Clients in every way YOU can; remembering not to take away a person’s physical or personal independence and choice, and at all times, preserve client dignity and confidentiality.

You could be working with the elderly, or people of all ages who are recovering from illnesses, or may have a disability or mental health problems. Your duties will involve personal care, household duties, meal preparation, companionship and personal assistance.

Criteria:

  • 18 – 23 years old
  • Resident in EU / UK for over 3 years
  • Do NOT hold a degree or Level 4 qualification
  • Willing to go through a Disclosure and Barring Service check
  • Working Week: 30 hours per week (a minimum of 5 shifts per week, each shift is 6 hours, which includes evening and weekend work).
    There are 2 shifts:
    Shift 1: 8.00am – 2.00pm
    Shift 2: 4.00pm – 10.00pm
  • Weekly Wage:
      • Stage 1: Month 1-3 = £120per week
      • Stage 2: Month 4-6 = £135per week
      • Stage 3: Month 7-9 = £150per week
      • Stage 4: Month 10-12=£165per week
  • Location: Various homes in, and near, the Camden area
  • Duration of Apprenticeship: 12 months, with opportunities to become a permanent member of staff on successful completion.
