Apprentice Caretakers (2) at Camden Council

We have an exciting opportunity for you to train, earn and learn. Camden Council is offering two 16 to 24 year old Camden residents (who are eligible to work in the UK and without a degree) an opportunity to become an Apprentice Caretaker.

As an Apprentice Caretaker for blocks of flats, you will assist other Caretakers in providing a flexible, responsive, high quality caretaking service to estates which includes checking on elderly residents to see if they are ok, cleaning sharps and hazardous waste from buildings, painting, fixing broken windows and other minor repairs and helping litter pick and clear rubbish in the environment. You will also provide excellent customer service to residents and signpost them to other Camden Council services.

Where: Gospel Oak or Hampstead, Camden
When: 8am - 4 pm Monday-Friday
Salary: £6.08 per hour
Contract: 12 months.

Hand Engraver Apprentice at R H Wilkins

R H Wilkins, situated in the heart of London's jewellery district, is seeking a 16-24 year old Camden or Islington resident (who is eligible to work in the UK and does not have a degree/level 4 qualification) to complete a 5 year apprenticeship as a Hand Engraver.

You will learn to make up and use specialist tools to engrave onto copper, silver, gold and other metals to create unique pieces. R H Wilkins produces engraved work for a variety of occasions and purposes, from jewellery items such as rings and lockets to larger pieces, including trophies for well known sports associations.

Where: Hatton Garden, Camden
When: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm
Salary: £150 per week for first 6 months. £13000 per year thereafter (£250 per week)
Contract: 5 years with a probation period of 6 months.

ICT Apprentices at Camden Council

Camden Council is offering TWO exciting opportunities for 16 to 24 year olds Camden resident (who are eligible to work in the UK and do not have a degree/level 4 qualification) to become an ICT Apprentices at Camden Council.

You will gain practical work experience as well as studying for a Level 2 or 3 Apprenticeship qualification in ICT.

Role 1: ICT in Schools Apprenticeship

You will be supporting the IT provision in schools around Camden and supporting other technicians in the Town Hall.

When: 9-5pm Monday-Friday

Contract: 12 months, with a probation period of 6 months.


Health and Social Care Support Workers at Look Ahead Housing and Care

Are you interested in working with any of the following:

  • Young people?
  • Families?
  • Clients with a history of homelessness?
  • Clients with mental health problems?
  • Clients with learning disabilities?

Do you want to learn under the guidance of a team to develop support work skills including key-working, undertaking assessment of needs/risk assessments, supporting action plans and developing links with key agencies.

You will attend college one day per fortnight to successfully complete vocational qualifications in health & social care.

Where: Across London so you must be prepared to travel.
When: Shift work - normally between 35-40 hours per week.
Salary: £14,000 per year
Contract: 12 month fixed term contract
