In 2007, Camden Black History Month programme celebrated the achievements and history of Black African and Caribbean communities who live and work in the borough.

Abolition of the Atlantic Slave Trade

2007 Black History Month programme was part of an annual programme to mark the Abolition of the Slave Trade with an aim of raising awareness of the trade and its legacy, which is still affecting countries and communities around the world today.

Events included discussions, films, poetry, performance and talks in libraries, cinemas and museums across the borough.

All events which took place in Camden libraries were free.
