Help with using this website
Finding your way around the site
On the left hand side of every page is a grey menu which lists the section you are in and the categories within that section. These categories can be clicked on to view information.
To assist you with moving back and forth between the pages there is a "bread crumb" trail at the top of each page - this starts with 'You are here:' so you can see the path you have followed to reach your destination and use it to revisit previous pages, (or you may prefer to use your web browser's back button or use the alt key + back arrow on your keyboard).

Looking for information
There are five ways that you can find information on this website:
1. The home page
This is the starting point of any website and a good place to begin browsing the site for information.
The web address (called URL) of Camden Council is www.camden.gov.uk and when you click on this web address, it is the homepage that will display on your screen.
Once you start to look at different parts of the site, if you want to return to the homepage, just click on the word 'Home' in the grey menu or click on the Camden Council logo in the top left hand corner. Alternatively press alt + 1 + enter on your keyboard.

2. Search - http://search.camden.gov.uk
Use the search box to type in your own word(s) and carry out a search for the word(s) on the website. The search box can be found in the top right hand corner of every page.
It is best to use one or two key words rather than a long sentence. There is also an advanced search.
3. A - Z - www.camden.gov.uk/ccm/atoz
The A-Z is another way for finding information on the site. It lists all the information relating to Camden Council, or available within the borough, in alphabetical order.
Click on the first initial letter of the service you require. For example, if you want to find information on planning applications, you may choose to click on the letter 'P' for planning, or perhaps 'A' for applications.
We also have an A-Z of our online and downloadable forms and an A-Z of frequently asked questions
4. Site map - www.camden.gov.uk/sitemap
Some people like to use a site map to get an overview of all the main areas of a website. Our site map can be located by clicking on the words 'Sitemap' that appear at the top of every page.
Jargon
A useful glossary of public services (and voluntary sector) jargon can be found at: www.societyguardian.co.uk/glossary
